“Tradizioni della Settimana Santa fra Italia, Malta e Spagna”

Opening of the photographic exhibition by Ken Scicluna

The Mediterranean Sea countries have in common stories and traditions when it comes to civil and religious feasts. The most important period of the year for Catholics, the Holy Week, reaching its culmination on Easter Sunday, is a clear example of how these traditions intermingled. The Maltese archipelago, southern Italy and Sicily and Spain have absorbed and exchanged many influences.

Ken Scicluna, with his striking ability to capture the world through his lens, highlights this cultural heritage and focuses on Easter traditions. Born in 1981, the talented photographer travelled around the world to pursue his passion.

The inauguration of the exhibition is on March 22 at 6.30pm at the Italian Cultural Institute. Admission is free.

The exhibition is open until April 5 and may be visited during the Institute’s opening hours.
