“La scatola magica: Tracce indelibile”

“La Scatola Magica” with Dott. Anna Porcheddu, at the Italian Cultural Institute

“Tracce indelebili” with Luciano Micallef

The title chosen by Luciano Micallef for his presentation is very impressive, and clearly indicates the relationship he has been able to develop with Italy from the period spent at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence from 1979 to 1983.

“Indelible traces, conscious and unconscious experiences that derive from a past lived in the important places of our life, as Italy was for me. The indelible traces I find in my paintings, in the way I think and articulate my speeches, “explains our guest.

After a long period of realism, Luciano decided to embark on the path of abstractionism. The essence of his work is based on strong and vibrant colours, which indicate his optimism. His production includes many graphic works as book covers and catalogues, posters, stamps. He is also known for his numerous portraits, including President Emeritus Edward Fenech Adami and his predecessor Guido De Marco, Luciano and Gilberto Benetton, Oliviero Toscani, Ornella Muti, Roberto Benigni and many others.

Luciano Micallef has exhibited in many private museums and galleries in Europe, Asia, the United States and Australia.
