A new series of monthly events for 2013 hosted by the Italian Government Lecturer, Dr Anna Porcheddu. They will be interesting and informal presentations and interactive talks. Each will be presented by a guest speaker with topics from Art & Music to Food & Wine to Artisan Crafts. You are certain of an interesting evening! To give an excellent start to the series we welcome an old friend, Prof Giuseppe Brincat, who needs little introduction. He is world renowned in his field of linguistics and philology with many accolades to his name, including membership of the Accademia della Crusca and holder of Commendatore dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana.
His talk will be “L’italiano e le altre lingue” and he will be discussing with you the reaction to the adoption of English as the medium for teaching science courses. This has been approved by the Rector of the Politecnico di Milano for the coming academic year. Should it be embraced as a reality or rejected on principle?
