Architettura barocca e influenze italiane a Malta

With the Lettore, at the Italian Cultural Institute

The summer holidays are over and the Lettore and her Magic Box are back in Malta. It’s the second Tuesday of the month, it’s 6.30 pm so it’s time to open up “The Magic Box”, at the Italian Cultural Institute, and see who’s inside! To open the second half of our year long programme we are turning to the subject of the architecture and design. We saw the return of many friends, and quite a few new ones, in the first half of the year and we look forward to seeing you all again. We know you will find the events interesting and exciting.

This evening we are pleased to welcome to the institute an old friend that many of you will know. Tonight we welcome Fr. Gino Gauci of the Church of St. Catherine of Italy.

This evening’s talk will be entitled “Architettura barocca e influenze italiane a Malta” and Fr Gino will be telling us  about the Baroque architecture in Malta and the influences from Italy.

Fr. Gino obtained his degree in Milan, Italy, at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. On returning to Malta he oversaw the architectural and artistic restoration of his church.

And of course we will join him afterwards for an informal chat over a glass of wine and a little something.
