Open Day – Library of the Italian Cultural Institute
The Italian Library Association will once again this year be organizing a new edition of Bibliopride, an initiative aimed at promoting the role of Italian libraries in the cultural sphere of our country. Guided tours, special animations and cultural events will be taking place between 28 September and 4 October in all libraries throughout Italy with a conclusive event taking place on 5 October in Piazza Santa Croce, Florence.
Convinced of the great contribution of libraries to cultural promotion, the Italian Cultural Institute in Valletta has adhered to this initiative. The Istituto library will be open from 10am to 6pm with the aim of presenting its library collections to the Maltese and Italian public. This collection of over 10000 books (all catalogued and accessible on line through OPAC (http://www.iicvalletta.esteri.it/IIC_LaValletta/Menu/La_Biblioteca/)
constitutes one of the major specialized libraries in the Maltese archipelago dedicated entirely to Italy and its language.
A publication in Italian will be given freely to all those present at this initiative.
