Concert of Languages for the European Day of Languages
As from 1 July, Italy assumed the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. In this context, the Italian Cultural Institute will be celebrating this year’s European Day of Languages with a special cultural activity aimed at promoting the variety and uniqueness of European languages. The event will consist of a poetry reading session and will give participants of different nationalities the opportunity to share their country’s literary heritage by reading out a poem in their own language.
The Ambassadors or the representatives of the 47 countries which form part of the Council of Europe were invited to participate in this event and read a poetic text in their own language, accompanied by a translation in English for the benefit of the general public.

The Concert of Languages is organized under the patronage and with the collaboration of the Italian Embassy in Malta and the Malta-EU Steering and Action Committee (MEUSAC).
