Nutrition is a source and culture of life in its different aspects. And yet food has become an enemy for millions of persons in the world. Nowadays nutrition and lifestyles are two of the factors that help to prevent the many diseases associated with eating disorders, a theme to be discussed in EXPO MILANO 2015 Nutrire il Pianeta, Energie per la Vita.
The initiative which is going to be held on November 19 at 09:30 at the Italian Cultural Institute in St. George’s Square, Valletta is aimed to analyze in depth these themes, in preparation for the important event in Milan. The seminar represents an opportunity to shed light on the collaboration between Italy and Malta. This collaboration led to the foundation of the Centre Dar Kenn Ghal Sahhtek di Mtarfa based on the models of the Italian Centres found in Todi and Città della Pieve (Umbria).
The event is going to be inaugurated by H.E. the Ambassador of Italy Giovanni Umberto de Vito and by the former European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy, Hon. Tonio Borg. The Director of the Italian Cultural Institute Dr. Salvatore Schirmo will present and moderate the seminar. After a series of talks by various Italian and Maltese personalities, the event will be concluded by a talk by the Commissioner for the EXPO 2015 in Milan, Prof. John Mamo.
The event is being organized by the Italian Cultural Institute under the patronage of the Ministry for Health and Energy of Malta, the Ministry for Health of Italy, the Embassy of Italy, Regione Umbria, USL Umbria 1, CIHEAM – IAM Bari in the context of the Italian Presidency of the Council of Europe.
