“Cucina maltese e italiana a confronto, tra commistioni e contaminazioni”

Within EXPOMilano 2015

A meeting on the topic of Maltese and Italian cuisine by  Massimiliana Tomaselli, the Malta delegate of the Accademia Italiana della Cucina, author Matty Cremona, gastronomic expert Liam Gauchi and publisher Joseph Mizzi.

Food changes, just as languages, habits and customs of populations change. These changes are a consequence of the fusions of different ethnicities and tastes derived from the basic needs of raw materials and above all from the contribution of the foreign invasions that happened throughout the centuries.

The guests of this evening are Massimiliama Tomaselli, Malta delegate of the Accademia Italiana della Cucina, Liam Gauchi, gastronomic expert and Matty Cremona, author of The Way We Ate. The book, published by Midsea Books, is about Malta, its history and its traditions exposed through the recounting of the evolution our food has gone through over time and how the distance and ease of communication and exchanges with Italy have brought about the changes in Maltese cooking.

This is a unique occasion for all those passionate about cooking! We hope to see you in large numbers!

The event is organized in collaboration with the Accademia Italiana della Cucina which promotes fine Italian Cuisine in Italy and abroad, in the context of the activities by the Italian Cultural Institute which are aimed at promoting EXPOMilano 2015.
