“Il piccolo libro dei venti”

Presentation of the book by the author Enrico Gurioli, with Lawrence Grech and reading of extracts by Amina Contin

The wind is not only an atmospheric phenomenon. It is a mystery which made man curious, it is the vital breath which gave life to many myths and cosmogonies. Wind allowed man to travel by the sea and discover new places. The universal image of the Wind Rose, with its centre probably being Malta, became popular in the maritime republics.

With this book, Enrico Gurioli presents to the reader his particular vision of the wind, enriching it with curiosities, little known anecdotes and by reconstructing the small and huge historical events in which the wind was a protagonist.  A light reading, enjoyable as much as a summer night’s breeze. The presentation will be followed by a reception.
