“Histoire du tango”

Histoire du Tango will take us through the story of Tango from its beginnings

It is a musical journey to discover the sounds and colours of Tango from the classical period when the movements, the figures and the breathing of dancers gave shape to the music right up to the revolution that was called Piazzolla. He made the music abandon the strict ties it had with the dance and became music that has no space and time. It will tell us about Buenos Aires and Montevideo, the stories of migrants. The programme will include works we already know like La Cumparista and Libertango that happen to start and end the concert. One piece is called Satortango and it is a composition of Paolo Castellani who is the violinist we listen to at the concert. Castellani and Francesco di Giandomenico are Satorduo and they have played in various parts of the world bringing tango to the ears of the connoisseur, of the enthusiast and of all those who wish to be part of an experience of sound at the hands of two top notch musicians from Italy.

The event will be held in the Sala Panoramica of Palazzo de Piro in Mdina on the 30th of April in order this may be a unique event that one does not easily forget because of the impact that the talent and setting will have on all those will share this experience. The programme will last over an hour and then there will be a stand up buffet with the musicians to make it one special evening.
