Within the Magic Box
It’s the second Tuesday of the month, it’s 6.30 pm, and it is “The Magic Box” at the Italian Cultural Institute.
Being from Sardinia herself, Dott. Porcheddu is pleased to present the topic of October, “La cucina sarda”, and our guest, Emanuele Orrù, from San Gavino Monreale, not far from Cagliari. Emanuele and his partner, Lisa, run an excellent restaurant, in Bugibba, called “L’Artista”. There Emanuele creates his culinary masterpieces and introduces people to real Sardinian cuisine. In fact, their menu, as it appears written on a huge blackboard, offers a very good selection of Sardinian dishes. They range from starters, always accompanied by the traditional Sardinian bread, called “pani carasau” or “guttiau”, that Emanuele bakes himself every day, to several pasta dishes, fish and meat main courses and delicious desserts, such as “sebadas”, filled with fresh pecorino cheese and sprinkled with honey. All mouth watering, isn’t it? Well, make sure you come early to learn about some of these delicious dishes and… maybe taste something with a glass of Sardinian wine.
