Within the Magic Box
How many times have you desperately tried to stop sneezing, had a sore throat or breathing problems? Have you ever felt tired without reason or very bloated, not necessarily after a big meal…. well, it could be an allergy. Thankfully, this month we are talking about allergy problems at “The Magic Box” with our guest, Prof. Mario Di Gioacchino. Director of the Department of Allergy at Ospedale Clinicizzato SS. Annunziata, in Chieti, Allergology and Occupational Medicine lecturer, Prof. Di Gioacchino is the author of more than 300 academic publications.
It is estimated that there are around seven million people suffering from allergy in Italy: a huge number, indeed! The arrival of spring, for example, marks for some people the return of an annoying and often debilitating problem, which might affect anyone, at any age and of any gender.
But what are allergies? In the case of Malta, can the very variable and unpredictable weather, the humidity and dust in the air, the spices used in cooking cause different kinds of allergies? And if so, how can we fight them? Prof. Di Gioacchino will be happy to answer any questions during his presentation or perhaps even later on, over a glass of wine and a few snacks to conclude as usual our evening. Come and join us.
