Inauguration of exhibition of artworks by Vincenzo D’Arrò
This exhibition wants to be an homage, with the narration through images, to the thousands of years of history and the centrality that the Mediterranean has, even today. This is understood not only as a sea but also as an enormous mosaic of different peoples, histories, cultures and religions. Vincenzo D’Arro’s works are metaphors of a voyage through two dimensions, that of space and that of time. Swinging between mythical figures and real events, off-springs of the Mediterranean, one navigates along that boundless sea called memory.
Born in 1981 at Taormina from a Sicilian father and a Maltese mother, Vincenzo D’Arro besides being a professor at the Accademia di Belle Arti at Catania, is also an artist who has to his credit the participation in important exhibitions and affirmed prices in Italy and other countries (exhibition at the Espace Christiane Peugeot in Paris, winner of the 1st price at the Malta International Art Biennial 2013). During the present exhibition there will also be, on Friday 15th April at 11:00, the presentation of the Farm Cultural Park in Favara (www.farm-culturalpark.com). It’s founder, notary Andrea Bartoli, will present the peculiarity of the cultural center which has made Favara well known.
The exhibition is open until 22 April and may be visited during the opening hours of the Institute.
