With Cynthia De Giorgio, Sante Guido and Giuseppe Mantella
Chiusura delle celebrazioni in onore di Mattia Preti e del Gran Maestro Gregorio Carafa
Anthony Pace, Superintendent of Malta Cultural Heritage, has been invited.
On the occasion of the end of the celebrations of the IV centenary of Fra’Mattia Preti’s birth (1613/2013) and the IV centenary of the Grand Master of the Order of Saint John, Fra’ Gregorio Carafa’s birth (1615/2015), the Italian Cultural Institute will hold a conference to recall all the activities promoted, organised and sponsored by the Institute Itself.
These events, such as exhibitions and conferences, were held both in Italy and in Malta, and aimed at celebrating the role of these two figures who have played a fundamental part in the cultural and historical dialogue between Italy and Malta. The speakers, Sante Guido and Giuseppe Mantella, have been curators of many of these events.
Guest of honour of the evening will be Cynthia De Giorgio, Curator at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta, who, on behalf of St. John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation, promoted several events aimed at studying and remembering the two famous Italian artists.
The collaboration between the Italian Cultural Institute and St. John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation will give a complete overview on what has been achieved between 2012 and 2016.
